Consider Character !
As you present lessons to your children, think of ways they demonstrate character. The understanding of concepts and rich content are important, of course! Additionally we can congratulate the character-building moments and praise a job well-done! Remember genuineness and specifics really help in your praise!
Here are a few examples:
Attentiveness: Thank you for listening so closely and watching as I spoke and explained the difference between common and proper nouns!
Diligence: Thank you for staying with the difficult math lessons and completing the assignment all the way to the end!
Thoughtfulness: Thank you for being prepared with all your supplies and considering my time as we learn this new system of education together!
Carefulness: You are paying careful attention to detail and referring to the examples as you practice your writing!
Patience: What wonderful patience you have as you do your math work; following all the steps in the word problems! Thank you for taking time to circle the important numbers and underline the key words.
